HOW DOES ACCELERATEKID USE THIS INFORMATION?

AccelerateKID’s primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you, the user, with the best experience on our Website, and also to service your requests for information or contact.

AccelerateKID does research on our users’ demographics, interests, and behavior based on the information provided to us, or from third parties such as Google Analytics. We do this to better understand and serve our users. This research is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis to spot trends in our business. Most research revolves around geographical information obtained through a user’s address and user interests. This helps us to better plan for opportunities in our existing markets, as well as potential future markets. We also spot trends to help us assess our current program offerings.

We also use third parties to assist us in providing services, fulfilling orders and information requests, improving users’ experiences on AccelerateKID’s website and for other business purposes. For these purposes, AccelerateKID may share (or obtain from) your personally identifiable information with these third parties. When AccelerateKID shares your personally identifiable information with these third parties, we will require that they protect your personally identifiable information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Surveys or Contests

From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in surveys on our site. If you participate, we may request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and email), and demographic information (such as zip code).

We use information collected to monitor company efforts to reach our target audience, as well as to understand how our audience perceives these efforts.

We may use a third party service provider to conduct these surveys or contests; that company will be prohibited from using our users’ personally identifiable information for any other purpose.

Choice/Opt-out

We will never sell or lease your information (or children’s information), such as email address, with any third party. We will never share information with third parties unless we have contracted with them and they must abide by the terms described above.

We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes:

WHAT ARE COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS AND HOW DOES ACCELERATEKID USE THEM?

As part of offering and providing customizable and personalized services, AccelerateKID uses cookies to store and sometimes track information about you. A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from our web server and stored on your computer’s hard drive.

Generally, we may use cookies to:

  • Personalized service. For example, a cookie is set when you register or “Sign In” and is modified when you “Sign Out”.
  • Automate certain areas of the AccelerateKID website or online forms.
  • Estimate our audience size. Each browser accessing the AccelerateKID website is given a unique cookie which is then used to determine the extent of repeat usage, usage by a registered user versus by an unregistered user, and to help target advertisements based on user interests and behavior.
  • Measure certain traffic patterns, which areas of the AccelerateKID website you have visited, and your visiting patterns in the aggregate. We use this research to understand how our users’ habits are similar or different from one another so that we can make each new experience on the AccelerateKID website a better one. We may use this information to better personalize the content, and promotions that you and other users will see on our sites.
AccelerateKID also collects IP Addresses, browser information and other computer information to report aggregate information to our marketing department.
  • You also have choices with respect to cookies. By modifying your browser preferences, you have the choice to accept all cookies, to be notified when a cookie is set, or to reject all cookies. Please refer to your browser’s help for further information about your options for controlling or monitoring cookies.

Web Beacons

We and third parties employ on our sites a software technology called Web Beacons, that help us better manage content on our site by informing us what content is effective. Web Beacons are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies, and are used to track the online movements of Web users. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, Web Beacons are embedded invisibly on Web pages and are about the size of the period at the end of this sentence. We tie the information gathered by Web Beacons to our customers’ personally identifiable information.

We also use Web Beacons in outgoing emails to track success of marketing efforts, so we can improve our systems.

We engage a third-party tracking service that uses cookies and Web beacons to track aggregated, non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site, in order to track usage and volume statistics and our websites.

We encourage you to review the privacy statements of any other service provider from whom you request services. If you visit a third party website that is linked to our site, you should read that site’s privacy statement before providing any personally identifiable information.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT MY PRIVACY?

AccelerateKID® LLC seeks consent of the youth’s parents/guardians to use software, tools and applications provided by third parties that members, parents/guardians and/or staff will access via the Internet and use for virtual programming while onsite programs are closed. The following includes links to privacy policies from each third party platform, as well as responsibilities of staff and parents/guardians to keep participants safe during virtual programming.

During virtual programming, our staff and youth might need to have 1:1 online contact with each other, as are participants with their peers during virtual programming, to provide further help when necessary.

Please review Zoom’s and Google Meets’ privacy terms and conditions carefully before registering your child(ren):
If you do choose to register for Zoom or Google Meet, you will be asked to provide basic information, not limited to name and email address.

How will we use Zoom or Google Meet?
Through video conferencing and media sharing, we will virtually gather participants and at least one staff for mentorship, classes, camps. clubs and other fun and educational activities. This will allow members to connect and engage with each other and staff online.

While facilitating a live program, staff have the following responsibilities.
  • Staff will send invitations to Zoom or Google Meet meetings to parents/guardians only, never directly to youth.
  • Staff will enable Zoom or Google Meet’s waiting room in order to make sure only approved participants whose parent/guardian has given their consent can participate in live virtual programming.
  • Staff will disable participant recording, eliminating the possibility that content can be downloaded later by participants and shared externally.
  • Staff can enable participant screen sharing in order to use the collaborative features on Zoom or Google Meet like whiteboard and presentations.
  • Staff can enable breakout rooms and participant-to-participant private chat to manage the youth and participants, assist with assignments, and encourage team activities.
  • Staff will be scheduled so that there are always at least 1 staff member present on the duration of all Zoom or Google Meet meetings to assist participants.
  • Staff will record audio and video of each live program on the organization’s Zoom or Google Meet secure cloud storage. All recordings will be deleted after 30 days.
  • At the end of each session, all chat logs will be recorded on the organization’s Zoom or Google Meet secure cloud storage. All recordings will be deleted after 30 days.
While participating in a program via Zoom or Google Meet, youth’s parent/guardian has the following responsibilities:
  • Parents/guardians need to supervise their children. Virtual programming provides activities and social connection but NOT physical safety or childcare.
  • Parents/guardians are the sole communicators between their child and Accelerate4KIDS™ and AccelerateKID® LLC.
  • Parents/guardians are responsible for making sure their children understand their role in their online safety to the best of their abilities.
The AccelerateKID® LLC also seeks parents/guardians’ consent to utilize social media for distance-based, marketing, promotional activities, advertisement, and virtual organization’s program purposes. Please review Facebook, YouTube and Instagram’s privacy terms and conditions carefully before registering your youth for virtual programming:

Our commitment to keeping the young people we serve safe is always our number one priority.  AccelerateKID® LLC  will actively monitor participant activity on Zoom, Google Meet, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram, and will make every effort to protect participant information. At any time, if a participant or their parent/guardian is unsatisfied with our use of media and data, feel free to contact us to remove the content which we will do immediately whenever possible.
