AccelerateKID® and GSSEM are hosting a hackathon for Cadettes at Oakland Mall!

5th grade Juniors and Cadettes will earn the Think Like a Programmer Journey and receive an AccelerateKID® Hackathon patch. Girls will be divided into teams of 3 and each will try out the roles of designer, developer and demonstrator/presenter while working together to learn Javascript and create their own app.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided, as well as some fun surprises! Awards will be given out to the top 3 teams as judged by guests from Google and AccelerateKID.

Costs:
– $40 per girl until March 1
– $50 per girl after March 1

The registration deadline is April 21 (or sooner if capacity is reached).

AccelerateKID® will be present to inspire youth to explore STEAM (Science. Technology. Engineering. Arts. Math.) and entrepreneurship with the purpose of increasing opportunities in careers in computer science, game design, robotics and digital art.
